*Beauty Tips From A Ranch Woman: Bed Head*

I was wondering what I should do with my hair at night when I go to bed. For the longest time I thought that if I put it in a ponytail or a braid that it would be best for my hair, it wouldn’t be all tangly in the morning and I wouldn’t rip it out when I brushed it out… So, I ended up asking my hairdresser what she thought. She informed me that putting my hair up in anyway while I slept is a no no. If your hair is confined when you sleep then it pulls all night long and makes your hair weak and brittle and it comes out super easy at the roots. So here’s what you do to have healthier hair when you wake up in the morning…

- Leave your hair down and unconfined as you sleep
- In the morning when you go to comb through your hair be patient,
use a comb not a brush, start combing at the ends and move up slowly
-  If you shower at night don’t rinse your conditioner completely out, leave a little on the ends
- Before you sleep, tip your head upside down and massage your roots. This helps your hair grow

*Beauty Tips From A Ranch Woman: Intro & Heated Eyelash Curling!*

Being a ranching woman can be hard sometimes. I have had people tell me that some ranch women were the  “roughest” looking woman they have ever seen. I personally think that ranching women are some of the toughest, yet gorgeous woman out there.

I personally don’t think there is anything special about me, but, I do know some tricks to, at least, try and make myself feel a little better, and look somewhat presentable with the limited time, money and what I have to work with. So, I wanted to share some of that with you. Just tips here and there, bits of useful information I have been fortunate to find out and try out.

The first thing I wanted to share is something so simple and yet, has been so great for me. My mom was actually the one who passed along this little trick to me. It has been a heaven sent because I have such out-of-control, long eyelashes. Mucho Gracias Madre! Here it is:
Heated Eye Lash Curling:

Step 1: Use your blow dryer to heat up your eyelash curler. I usually do this for about 5 seconds. (It varies on what temp your blow dryer is set to blow)
Step 2: Feel the curler with your fingers to see if it’s warm enough. It should be warm but not hot enough to burn your eyelids. If I think it’s too hot then I will lightly tap the curler to my eyelid. (Warning: DO NOT try and curl your lashes until you have made sure the curler WILL NOT burn your lids. Because… It hurts!). It only takes a couple seconds for the curler to cool off again so you have to time it just right to where the curler is still warm but you are able to have it touch your lids without hurting.

Step 3: Remove the curler after a few seconds to reveal beautifully curled eyelashes.

Step 4: Apply mascara soon after curling to ensure long lasting curl!

If you curl your lashes then I totally recommend trying this. It’s fast and effective and a pretty cool trick!

If anyone has any awesome beauty tips that are pretty amazing, some that are fast or cheap (or both!), and are effective and worth passing along… Please do just that! E-mail me, text me or call me and I’ll share it on my blog, or leave a comment for everyone to see! Just trying to be as pretty a working-woman I can try and be. Thanks Ladies!
