*Happenings In My Neck Of The Woods*

Summer is here! I mean Spring, I mean Summer... whatever, it's semi-warm and there's beeb no snow... lately... so, let's just say it's Summer. That's what is says on the calender anyway.

So... Summer is here! And along with our "summer" comes floods, farming and lots of plants!

And when I say flooding I mean it. A few weeks ago Joey & I were heading home one way on our dirt road, at night, and all of a sudden the road just ended, I slammed on the brakes, stuck my head out the window and realized that it didn't end but it was "moving". The road was a river... or, the river took over the road. Either way, we had to turn around and take a 20 minute detour to get home. Now, it's the other way to our house that's hangin' on to being a "flood free" zone. Just barely hangin' on I might at. Check it out...

And check out some other pictures of where we live. Kinda pretty :)

The other thing that has come from our newfound Summer time is some yummy smelling herbs... and strawberries... and peppers! I went wild with the planter herbs at the store. I am excited. I already used my chives to make Sour Cream & Chive dip to go along with my canned Homemade Salsa and Cheese Quesadillas we had for dinner the other night (delicious!). I took a few minutes one evening to plant my new plants and enjoy the mosquitos sun. I can't wait to use my Peppers, 2 kinds of Basil leaves, Cilantro, Rosemary & Lavender(for potpourri)

And our kittens are growing, eating hard food and ready to go! Cute little babies. I'll miss these little guys.

Joey has been busy getting all the pairs shipped to our summer grazing and keeping the pivot running smoothly (pretty much a daily battle). I've been missing the winter months of having him home by dinner time and not spending nights away from him. But, he's livin' his dream and who am I to complain right!? ;)

*New Decor*

I had some space in my kitchen/dining room that needed something. So, I found this bookshelf for a great deal at a country store that was going out of business and my wonderful parents got it for me! The cast iron kettle was my (correct me mom) great-great-great? grandparent's. And the cast iron cornbread pan was my great grandmother's. I found the old seasoning tins, handmade lace doilies and the flour sifter at an antique store. The jars are just some of the MANY I have been using for canning. The tiny pine cones I picked up in Lake Tahoe. The antique drink cooler/dispenser was hidden away in my in-law's old bunk house. And the honey is family grown... and pretty, so I figured I would display it :)

*Home*

I'm at my parents house that I still consider home... It's so nice here.  When I come here I feel like I took a step back and can now breath and relax.  It's just what I needed right now.

But...

... now I've decided it's time to make our little ranch house in chilly Randolph my home, our home.  I've just got to try harder and learn to love it, at least the part that it's full of our things, it's full of our love.  I've got everything I'll ever need inside it, playing games with me on the living room floor, getting ready with me in the little bathroom, helping me cook dinners in the cute country kitchen, playing with the dogs out in the front yard, laying next to me in our bed every night... My husband.  And it might not be a dream castle in a beautiful fairyland, but, it's our home.

*Our Apartment*

Here's one side of our living room. We used some of our wedding money to buy the couch. "DuraSuede" is what the fabric is called. It's pretty comfy.

Here's the collage McCall and Joey helped me put up. The three picture frame now has scrapbook paper in it that matches the living room. It looks cute.

Here's the other side of the living room. The TV was from Joe's share of the wedding money haha. LOVE IT!

Right next to the front door. Picture was my wedding gift to Joey. Chris put a picture of us in front of the "Proclamation to the Family".

Our kitchen.
Dining room with my great-grandmother's table, chairs and china cabinet. And our pine-cone wreath we got on our Honeymoon in Lake Tahoe. The "china" I bought at Khols. I'd been wanting to buy it all forever but couldn't afford it, so I was finally able to with some wedding money. Our guest bathroom. I had the shower curtain and loved the red paisley on it so I just added to it.
Our bedroom. It's the "blue room". I LOVE It. The bed, mattress, jean comforter, sheets and small statue were wedding gifts from my parents. Diane, Joey's mom; made the wedding ring quilt for us for our wedding gift. The cute barbed-wire heart was also a wedding gift.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR BED! The guy who made it did such a good job! He did the headboard just how I wanted it, unique! AND OUR QUILT, love it! She used a lot of our wedding colors. This is the picture my parents got Joe for his b-day because it reminded me of Joey. It's called "Hero Of The Storm" This is my FAVORITE room haha. Our bathroom. I got all this duckie stuff when I worked at Bath and Body Works so I HAD to use it all :)
Joey hates using this bathroom he says it makes him feel "uncomfortable" because of the ducks on the toilet haha so he honestly uses the guest bathroom, but I also pretty much take over this bathroom every morning so he has no other choice.
It's ridiculously cheesy but I love it.
My mom and McCall decorated our spare bedroom for me. IT'S SOOO DANG CUTE. My mom made the little flags and the small pillow case. And McCall decorated the star.
